The Boston Bolts and Hillside School are thrilled to announce a new academic and athletic partnership unlike any other beginning January 2021. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity, combining a world-renowned soccer program and a world-class school. Such a partnership will offer select student-athletes full time soccer training on the campus of one of New England’s elite independent middle schools.

The Hillside-Boston Bolts Academy will open in the spring of 2021 for day and boarding boys in grades four through nine and will offer players a first class educational and soccer experience. The Boston Bolts is one of the largest and most well-respected soccer organizations in the US. Hillside is thrilled to become their MetroWest hub and the school looks forward to a longstanding and mutually beneficial affiliation.

Hillside is a private junior boarding and day school located thirty miles west of Boston in Marlborough, MA. The school welcomes domestic and international boys from grades four through nine. Purposely small, the school of 165 students offers a 7:1 student to teacher ratio and differentiated instruction. One signature program offered by Hillside includes an innovation and technology curriculum out of their state of the art Innovation Center reflecting its commitment to 21st century skill building. Hillside graduates are accepted by some of the most competitive and prestigious secondary schools including Andover, Exeter, Middlesex, St. Mark’s, Dexter, Nobles, Milton, Deerfield, Choate, Loomis Chaffee,┬áSt. Paul’s and more.

Outside of the classroom, Hillside is well known for the strength of its athletic program particularly in the sport of hockey. Recent Hillside alumni have been recruited by Division 1 universities and colleges including West Point, UMaine, BC, Michigan State, Florida State, UMass, Ole Miss, and Dartmouth.

For the first time, two organizations, one that focuses on sport specialization in soccer and the other, a transformative educational experience, come together in one campus setting.

Boston Bolts CEO, Brian Ainscough said, “the Bolts are over the moon with this partnership. To be able to follow your passion for soccer while getting a world class education is just fantastic. What Hillside offers in the classroom, the Bolts offer on the soccer field. This is truly an exciting and unique opportunity for young, aspiring student-athletes. As CEO of the Bolts, it’s my job to give our players many different options to help them reach their true potential both in the classroom and on the field. We can’t wait to start working with the Head of School, Ed Chase, and all his staff.”

Hillside Head of School, Ed Chase, shared, “the school is thrilled to partner with the country’s best soccer organization and working together will be an unbeatable combination.”
