Frequently Asked Questions 2017

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the 24 Hour Soccer Match?

It is the one major community event for the FC Boston Bolts club. It is designed to be fun, as well as beneficial to FC Boston and its partner charity, Special Olympics.  Soccer is played in our indoor facility for 24 hours!

When and where is the event being held?

The match is being held January 6-7, 2017. Each team will play for a time block during the 24 hour event.

What is the fundraising goal for the event?

Our goal is to raise as much money as possible for two great organizations! Each player is asked to raise $200-300 in donations.

How will the funds be used?

Proceeds from the event will be shared between Bolts Scholarship Fund and Special Olympics.

FC Boston provide top level professional coaching, programming and facilities, as well as providing help for players/families in need. Additional funds are needed annually to help us continue to meet these goals.  It is our expectation that with full participation from our players and families, we will be able to write a check to Special Olympics in excess of $20,000.

Why are we partnering with Special Olympics?

As an organization, FC Boston is concerned about and committed to the good health of its soccer players, coaches and families. FC Boston players have an opportunity to play for one of the best elite soccer clubs in the country.   This is a way for us to give back to the community and to help support the benefits of soccer to kids with special needs.

Will there be prizes for those that participate?

Yes. There will be prizes awarded to the top individual fundraiser and the team who raises the most funds and in other categories. Prizes will be announced in the near future.

What will happen on the day of the event?

Players should arrive one half hour before their team’s time slot to drop off their donation sheets and pledges and warmup and have fun!
